I’m a boudoir photographer, a curious traveller, a serial key-loser, and I probably don’t eat enough salad. I’m also a woman who knows how easy it is to lose yourself while juggling life, work, family and everything in between.

I’m a real woman with lumps, bumps and a body that has been through a lot. I know the little voice that says “not yet”, “not until I’ve lost a stone”, “not at my age”. I also know how good it feels to finally ignore it.

My story: Why I created Rebelliously Sensual

I’ve been a professional photographer for over 20 years. Before boudoir, I was a wedding and portrait photographer, often carrying 10kg of kit around for 12 hours a day. I loved the work, but it was punishing.

Then came the turning point. Three years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer. My world turned upside down. The treatment was brutal, and my poor body was put through hell.

I lost a lot. But I gained something too: perspective.

Before cancer, I had spent years at war with my body. Then that same body fought like hell to keep me alive. I realised it doesn’t deserve criticism. It deserves my love, respect and GRATITUDE.

That is why I photograph women the way I do. I’m not looking for the bits you wish were different. I won’t see your “flaws”. I’ll see you. My job is to show you the woman who has been there all along:

Beautiful. Powerful. Rebellious. Sensual. YOU.

And maybe, just maybe, seeing yourself through my eyes will help you start seeing yourself through yours.

That’s why I created Rebelliously Sensual. Every woman deserves to see herself with the same kindness she so freely gives to everyone else.

I don’t believe in a “boudoir body”. I’ve photographed women of every size, age and stage of life and I know how to light, pose and guide real bodies so you look and feel wonderful. Scars, softness, stretch marks and “that bit” are all welcome. I’ll never ask you to be anyone but you.

The magic is in what’s implied rather than shown. My style is sensual and artful, and you decide how much you reveal.

You won’t be left wondering what to do

We plan it together. Before your shoot, we’ll have a relaxed chat about what you’d love, what to wear and anything you’re worried about.

I guide every pose. Most women who come to me have never been in front of a camera. That’s exactly who I love working with.

There’s lots of laughter. Nerves usually disappear within the first ten minutes, often sooner.

It’s just us. The Cowshed is my private studio. There are no other clients, no assistants unless you want one, and no passing traffic

Your images are yours. Nothing is shared anywhere without your written permission.

The Embrace Project - for women living with cancer

I’ve seen first-hand the impact that empathetic, beautiful photography can have.

Sitting in a chemo session, chatting to the women around me, I realised how much photography could give them. It could help them find a little self-love again. It could say the things to their friends and family that are so hard to put into words. It could create a lasting memory of who they are, in spite of everything cancer tries to steal.

That’s how the Embrace Project was born. This is a very personal and individualised session, following on from a relaxed, but open chat. It is tailored to your needs. I am currently trying for charitable support. In the meantime it is offered at a special rate. Contact me for more details.
